Countdown to NCMD Launch Date – Information for CDOPs
We are very excited to give you this update on the work that has been happening on the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) during the first year of this project. As some of you may know, Working Together (2018) and the new Child Death Review Statutory and Operational Guidance requires CDOPs to submit data to NCMD from 1st April 2019. NCMD is scheduled to launch on that date and the timetable of events is detailed below.

NHS England Webinar | Join one of the NHSE webinars on implementing the new national guidance. These are aimed at those who are decision-makers about allocating resource, commissioning services and leading processes related to child death reviews in their areas. The content of both webinars is identical so please register for one webinar only. To do so, please email england.cypalignment@nhs.net with details of which webinar you would like to join. |
| 21st March | eCDOP Webinar | Webinar for eCDOP users to explain the changes that will come into effect on April 1st. |
| 25th March | Registration for the live NCMD site opens | Thank you to everyone who took part in the pilot of NCMD, your valuable feedback has enabled us to make some changes to the system which we hope will benefit everyone. We are now ready for you to register for the live NCMD site so you can begin using it on 1st April 2019. If you are an eCDOP user, you do not need to register on NCMD, however, if you are not an eCDOP user then you MUST register before 1st April 2019. If you previously registered for the pilot, you will still need to register again for the live site. We will send you details of how to register on 25th March when registration opens. |

| 1st April | NCMD GO LIVE DATE | Entry of all open cases onto NCMD. That is, all cases that have not yet been reviewed by your CDOP, regardless of when the child died. If you are an eCDOP user, this will automatically happen. |
